Where do these things go??????
I pulled off the driver's side inner panel of my 97 SC2 today to see if I could fix the lock/unlock module (which now sticks in place and must be rocked to the neutral position to stop the lock or unlock action.
When I opened up the lock/unlock switch, there were two places for "see saw/rocking contacts" that make different electrical connections. Only one of the contact rockers was there. But the switch functioned, it just did not self cancel. It's like a spring is missing but it's a closed chamber and there was no metal around. If it is some other method of spring action w a different material, I'd love to know what it is. Also needed to deal w a speaker buzz. ANYWAYS I always put the fasteners in the back section of the center console. On one screw, I reached blindly for said location and missed. How far could it go? I spent 30 min searching for the damn screw that holds the inner door handle and lock/unlock switch. Did not find the screw. What I DID find: 1. A penny from 1980. 2. A scattering of foam stuffing, presumably from the driver's seat 3. A bridge token for the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission for PA and NJ. Now I have to vacuum the car to find it. Missing spring action, missing screw....where do these things go? |
The sock monster was let loose in your car!

I ordered 100 of the dash screws the fit the Ford products at work. Now that I have spares I don't seem to loose as many. LOL
