The shock absorbers are actually just dampers.

It wouldn't go into spin b c it kept getting way off balance. This is the reason 99.5% of the time on these models.

I have no idea how the dampener (s) suddenly got so messed. Maybe I leaned the tub in a foul direction on a previous repair and slightly bent one.

Shaft and drum rotate perfectly centered w no lateral play.

Already waiting on dampeners tub seal and stator bolt

Ahhh, the old hurry up and wait. I hate that. I'm glad to see you got it figured out, derf. I remember the first time I took a washing machine apart and Reatha asking if I could fix it. I told her, "Hell yes. I'm just like my Daddy and he could fix anything." I'm sure glad it worked after I got it back together. I replaced a plastic part with one made of metal! You'll be fine on this one. I admire the fact that you're not afraid to take things apart and do your own repairs too. Keep it up, buddy.

Took the intake manifold to get me over the mental into the physical, for which I have all of you to thank.

Got a top of the line LG washer and dryer set that we received as a housewarming gift 11 years ago.
I've had to replace the "shocks" at least 3 times so far. And the water pump. And the water pump motor.
The last time I was replacing the shocks (it comes with 3, two in front on each side and one in back) I discovered there was provision for two more on each side in the back.
I bought another shock kit (of 3) and added that 4th and 5th shock.
It has been much more stable since.
I haven't noticed any issue with the bearings yet (surprisingly).
It really grinds my gears though that even on the top of the line model LG was still cutting corners by leaving those two shocks out.
Of course it still struggles to actually clean clothes (its primary function) due to the water saving design.
I'm on a well in a part of the country where we more often than not have too much water. Such a feature is not needed or wanted.
I'm so done with this machine but there seems to be little available new without going for an expensive (like the LG wasn't - $1200 in 2013) industrial/commercial machine.
Now I'm actively looking for an early to mid '70s Maytag to replace it.
Sorry for the rant, I'm just so done with the modern appliances - especially the washers.

I git it, when we moved here from Louisville I got her a used Maytag w/iron tranny!! We lived in Louisville back in the 80's and a guy sent me free from the GE plant a replacement agitator that was wore out, he dated our machine a 1959! Still working when we left in 1990! Appliance dude hooked me up in the Burg said the maytags were bulletproof.

We also love our old USA made Maytags, gas dryer on propane. We ran Kenmore from 1980-2010, then I found these Maytags.
