Stock clutch?
The stock clutch is weird. I know you've driven the l61, COMPLETELY different.
I get that feeling sometimes too, that its going out, but it doesn't smell like I'm roasting it.

Oh, no, I know it slipped pretty good who I tried moving the car in 4th, I was in an intersection, and tried moving to make it easier for others to get around me... I smelled clutch the whole time I was messing with the cables, and then stumbled onto a solution... Then, I tried a semi-launch and smelled clutch again, so I know it's not as good as it was... It's likely stock though, I'll probably get the GM upgrade if this one fails...

Yea, the gmpp is popular.

Y'all are having WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much fun with this!

Yeah, I need to pull the thread back on topic... The Taurus is gone(replaced with 04 Redline), and the ranger stays for now, until I get above mentioned redline sorted out... It ran okay for 500 miles or so, but now it is missing...

tnvikesfan 03-22-2015 11:10 AM

You'll get it straightened out, I have faith!

19bonestock88 03-22-2015 06:28 PM

I hope I can, it's getting frustrating...

Bump, the ranger could still be sold, in theory.., it's at a friends house getting its radius arm bushings changed, so it'll be drivable again in a few days...

Anybody interested?

I have been considering a truck. Especially after the amount I spent today to get the redline towed.
To bad I don't have the money right now after everything will be said and done.

I turned down a 72 ford pick up the other day with 80k original miles for 1500. All it needed was a flywheel, besides that it was beautiful.

Well, I'll be honest when it comes to towing with my Ranger, it doesn't like to... I had our L series behind it on a tow dolly, and it took some clutch slipping to get started... Now, it does have an open differential and 3.08 gears, and Ford didn't even recommend towing at all in the current configuration, so I imagine with an axle swap (to a 3.73 ratio, trac-lok) it could do well enough to handle your Redline on a small trailer(just big enough to fit the car on)
