My refrigerator 54deg at 145a
Nice early morning surprise.
Had a power glitch a couple days ago. Sometimes they upset appliances, especially refrigerators.
UNplugged for 10 minutes.
215a Frz 8 fridge 59.
315a Frz 4 fridge 59
This model brings the freezer to zero, then works on the refrigerator. 0 and 37 are the goals.
...... Not going to be have any differently if I am awake or asleep I'm so eff it Good night.
3 weeks ago I had to reconstruct the styrofoam insulation seals around the coil in the fridge because it was icing up. I thought the fan had failed again but the fan was fine. I finally determined it was because there was not enough airflow across the coils due to air leaks around the area around the coils which is insulated from the rest of the fridge. The fan was pulling just fine, but it was not pulling that the dehumidified air past the coils fast enough for the coils' cooling load to be dissipated by the air going by. When that happens, it just crystallizes water out of the air and that's when you get freezing on the coils. Or at least one of the ways.
It's been working fine for 3 weeks.
I'm hoping somebody just left the door open. It didn't feel right when I opened it.
Otherwise I suspect that left thermostat that auto defrosts the coils is defective. There's a thermostat that makes sure that the defroster oils do not overheat and destroy themselves. I'm thinking that temperature thermocouple is defective and that it's not defrosting at all.
I bought replacement parts for it last time when I bought an extra fan but I did not use them. I really don't want to have to make nine trips down to the basement refrigerator. Actually most of what's in there right now in the fridge part may be hosed. We will see. I'll probably sneak one more reading in before I fall asleep. If the fridge temperature is going back down all is well. If it ain't I'm really not in the mood.
But at least you all got your Saturn questions half *** answered in the middle of the night.

Evaporator coils are frozen of course. Fan is not the issue.
I don't think the unit is defrosting at all or at least not properly. I'm going to replace the defrost temperature sensor on it as soon as I can effin find it either in the basement my office or some bonehead might have taken it out to the garage.
Funny how all my 30-year-old spare Saturn parts are organized to a T but my spare dishwasher refrigerator washer furnace etc spare parts are strewn across four shelves in the basement with none of them really terribly labeled. Maybe I'll have to do something about that. It's fun trying to write standard operating procedures well defrosting coils in your refrigerator. The two are not in any way compatible

Actually ended up being the defrost thermostat which keeps track of the coil temperature when the defrost coils are energized during the self defrost cycles. I also replaced the temperature sensor on the coils the same location because it was there and cheap. Unfortunately I slipped when cutting the wires for the latter and removed too much length from the wires sticking out of the fridge. It is all cheap stranded copper and because I could have too short it was almost impossible to work with. How to get super tiny butt connectors which I can't stand using but there was no room to solder it. Since I can disassemble that part of the fridge in under 7 minutes now without breaking anything, I'm going to replace the sensor and it's full leads soon because the freezer temperature is wandering supposedly and for whatever reason instability in this sensor affects the reported freezer temperature. Problem is I have to remove part of the back of the unit meaning the entire fridge to access where it connects to the main board. Whatever. Knowledge is power
The first thing it did after I plugged it in after replacing those sensors was to apparently sit in defrost mode for 4 minutes probably because it has an onboard battery and therefore compared the date on that day and the time with the last time the defrost cycle actually worked, and went oh crap this thing needs to be de frosted.
But it came down to temperature.
But it came down to temperature.
Next is a dryer refresh.
New rollers, belt, tensioner.
Like the washer I took apart and put back together, it's 11 years old with no history of problems. I had to replace the moisture sensor once but that's it.
Should probably pick up a spare thermostat while they are still available.
Now if I only had the same courage to crack an engine open....
I guess I'm moving in the correct direction..,.... My tremor is slowly worsening and Botox can control it to a great extent but not completely.. and now it's moving to my other hand. Effing yay. I suspect at some point in my life I will do a head gasket but not a rebuild. At least not in my garage, maybe someone else's.
