Congratulations on the replacement and on the retirement, Andy. And an early Happy Birthday to you, too. I'll be 69 years old on the 28th.

Congratulations sir.
Have never met you in person, but I can't see a man like you sitting idle, from what I know.
You've worked hard, probably harder than most, to get to this point in life, where you are not chasing a paycheck. Instead, you will hopefully be doing the things you've always wanted to do.
Enjoy your soon-to-be retirement and the time it gives you to spend with your ever growing family. And indeed, pre happy birthday to you.

Thank you both! I am off to Washington State in the morning to purchase a 2006 Eddie Bauer Expedition 4x4 for a complete frame swap. $1000 with a good 5.4 three valve, leaking transmission. I think the Driver’s door will fit the Navigator. Pretty much the same car. 15 more days!

Replaced the driver’s cracked driver’s window and bad regulator with good parts out of the junk door. Transferred the door lock switch also tested both window motors and switches. Spare parts, I will have to start a Navigator dedicated shelf in the garage. The more I look at my silver one the worse it is. The front differential is destroyed. The Ford is going to be parts most likely. Discussing a 2003 silver one with a clean body, waiting on a price and whether it is a four wheel drive or not. Meanwhile making the white one a nicer car and using it as a driver.

The white one certainly looks better, Andy. What will you have to do to it before you trust it as a daily driver?

It is there now, we put 600 miles on it a week ago. Had the driver’s door apart to replace a cracked non op window. The regulator was junk and probably why the glass cracked. Tested the window electrically and one of the got wires is dead by the time it gets to the door. We have two good window motors and two good switches. The fuse is good but there is a splice on that wire below the passenger door threshold. We have trouble with Ford wiring all the time running below the sill plates. I will remove the plate and find the splice and repair it. Then the driver’s window should work. The driver’s seat upholstery is torn up and the sway bar links showed up today so I think I know what I will be doing this weekend. 😀

Back when I was contracting with Airborne Express, there was another contractor who had several Ford F-150 vans and every one of them had some type of electrical issue. It was usually just a burned out tail light, brake lights not working or flaky turn signal. I never had any electrical problems with my Ram 150 van.

Based on the current Dodge/Ram issues we have at work, I will take a Ford product all day long. Fiat did Chyrsler no good as far a reliability. We are replacing a 3.6 in a 2016 Ram 1500 at 65k miles. It has had camshaft issues since new and when the dealers have everything is stock, that lets me know it is a common issue.
