All the transmissions I have are F35s like your redline. They come both cable and rod shifted.

I’m still slightly less interested in making the Redline move again than I am in making my sedan all the more awesome. As I see it I’ve got a platform that’s 200+lbs lighter and a built stock cam L61 should make about 180hp, which should be plenty, as I’ve seen on the Dragon, especially if I lose some additional weight. The more I’ve driven my sedan and especially with the compliments I’ve recently gotten on it, the more I wanna make it truly awe inspiring...

You might want to swap the big brakes and bars to the sedan and bolt the blower on your L61.

If there was a way to tune the 03-04 L61 I’d have already been feeding it boost lol... brakes and bars? Could be

Brakes on the red line are 2 or 3mm bigger than the base. Rotors are an inch or 2 bigger iirc and would need to be redrlled for obvious reasons. F23 vue and hhr have the best final drive. Hhr is 4.17 and vue is 4.41 or something like that. All the other gears are the same though.

I have a whole Redline that isn’t operational that I could grab brakes/hubs from if it came to that. I actually want the FY1 code trans from the Cobalt XFE (3.63 final drive), this is still an economy build after all... it would just about make it possible to do the whole Dragon in 2nd gear with no more power than I’ve got... ideally I’d love to drive down there averaging 50+mpg, thrash it all weekend and drive it home averaging the same...

3.63 is the FD. Other gearing ratio is identical iirc. I have the spread sheet somewhere.

Yes, the gears are same between the M86 trans (3.84FD) and the FY1 (3.63FD), but if I could get a tire that was around 26.2” tall and I had the FY1 trans, I think I’d be able to stretch 2nd gear long enough to do the whole Dragon in 2nd... that being said it may end up making the car a dog in 2nd, and I think I’d drop out of the powerband in the tighter corners. As it is there are a couple corners out of the 318 that require going back to 1st for optimal acceleration...

What rpm would you be running in 2nd the whole way? How high did your temp go?
