I would never ever in my life buy a toyota, they are death on wheels!

Death on wheels or not. They are not close to the car they once were. Not that they truly were all people made them out to be. I've had two back when they were "the brand to have". One was nothing but trouble and the other was no better than any rig I'd owned before.

Yea ill just stay away from them completely lol.

last camry I drove several years back (my neighbor's) rode just as rough as my 95 SC2 w original struts. I was mystified as to why anyone would want one.

I never owned or even remember driving a Toyota. But when the Hyundai was first brought into the country I was looking for a replacement for what ever i was driving at the time and they were getting good press and they were cheap. So I went down to the dealer (brand new of course) and drove one. They drove like little baby tanks. There was nothing particularly positive to say about them at all other than they went forwards and backwards and drove like a tank. And they were cheap. I don't remember why I did not buy one. I needed something pretty bad at the time and for the money they were worth it.
Boy howdy, have those cars come along way. 'Specially when you consider the number of manufacturers that are out of business now because people stopped buying them and bought offerings from off shore. And bragged about how good they are. Unfortunately the opposite is true of a number of now gone American cars that frankly through lack of innovation and manufacturing flaws eventually made even those 1st Hyundias, look good.

Hyundai, KIA along with Daewoo where the number one dumpster cars. Hyundai/KIA now live together under one roof. Daewoo was bought up by GM around 2001 and US operations shut down.

All three thrive in the markets they are in. As everyone knows I now own a KIA...after a year and a half looking over cars....the Forte won out big. Evan won out over it's first cousin the Hyundai Elantra because of HP and price. Toyota didn't stand a chance.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, as of 2013 Toyota recalls have affected 13 million cars in five years.

GM, Ford, and Chrysler all treated the competition form off shore as an annoyance. They were smaller there for less desirable and when something was offered as an alternative the big 3 offerings tended to be smaller and less desirable than their bigger cars. And they were placed in the show room as an alternative to the off shore competition. Not realizing that it was their bigger cars that they were taking a shot at. And the bigger cars were loosing and the smaller cars offered weren't winners. What a waste of design money and talent at the time. Toyota has something that GM never had. A brand specific world market. In part through lack of business management by GM. (and others) And in part by restrictive import requirements applied to GM products. And not to others.
