My wife is cancer free! The minivan lives! Life is good!
Now back to the wagon, first thing was dealing with the fuel tank. I quit on the wagon last fall after filling it and fuel pouring out the top of the tank when near full. I ran the fuel down and parked it, ordered lots of parts including a fuel pump. Today I dropped the tank to replace pump and or solve the fuel leak whatever it is. The pictures tell the tale. I still have a new pump in the box! https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sat...fe852c780.jpeg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sat...122aa8a09.jpeg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sat...7a49cc925.jpeg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sat...19f047ebf.jpeg |
Fantastic news about your wife, Andy. That is a great Mothers Day share. And kudos to you for getting the gas tank fixed.

Happy Independence Day my friends. Today is timing belt, tensioners, and water pump day for the wagon. There are two options based on serial numbers for the timing and component kit. I trusted Rock Auto and ordered what turned out to be different than my car. There is only one timing belt for these engines so I was able to use the old bracket and the new pulleys. One of the idlers on my car had a center hole in the bushing and the replacement pulleys all have offset and therefor adjustable by rotation bushings. A couple minutes with the arbor press and the correct bushing is in the new pulley. Going back together now. 😀

I have replaced both headlights in the last week, but I have not driven this car at night in several months. Yesterday I removed the tow bar brackets and wiring from the L200/5 and installed the brackets and most of the wiring on the wagon. I still need to run the harness through the firewall and break into the harness near the driver’s side fuse panel. This car has one small wire for each light circuit. So I can use the red brake lights as blinkers and brakes like the motorhome. I also have to bunch four tail light wires together to get all the rear running lights on with the motorhome taillights. This wagon is turning into a very nice car. I do miss the 30 mpg of the L200/5 but I can live with 25-27 and ice cold air. It has been a couple months and I have finally quit looking for the clutch each time I get in. LOL

Back from California fires. I left on August 17th and arrived home tonight. Very happy to be home!

Glad to have you home safe and sound

There's no place like home, Andy. I'm happy to hear you're home safe and sound and am sure you have a lot of catching up to do with the family and other projects, so GET WITH IT! LOL

First things first, order a Starlink for fast internet. Order firewood, drop off barrels at the bulk animal feed producer. I picked up the motorhome and brought it home, my daughter and her kids had it at family camp when I left for the fire. I had her drop it off at my friend the water man’s yard. There is no way she could get it down the driveway to where I store it. Today is a trip to the dump, it is amazing how fast the trash trailer gets full. I have been gone a month, the kids did process 50 broiler chickens while I was gone.
Back to my life! LOL |
