I have an '07 Saturn Aura Xe, am looking for the molding assembly window belt parts for all four doors. The exterior and interior are in great shape, including the chrome strip that runs across the top of the door next to the window. Just the 'soft' strip has deteriorated and I understand this 'strip' is part of the chrome piece. Have looked at all sorts of sites, nothing is available, the pieces have been discontinued for some time. My question is - to be creative - can the 'soft piece that's crimped into place with the chrome strip be removed and something else glued or secured in place? I haven't gotten that far in pulling the door panel apart, just wondered if someone else has dealt with this. I love my car, hope some type of solution is available.

I don't remember any mention of this issue.

If you do disassemble and come up with a solution, please document with pictures how you do it. I'm sure it will be helpful to someone else in the future.
