I am new to this site just bought my first saturn a few months ago. I am happy to say I saved it from the junk yard. It is a 1999 sc2.

Hey Paul,
Gotta love the "saved from Junk Yard" Saturns. I owned a few cars that way and there are times that actually is a good source. I have not gotten around to sending mine there yet. Every time I think of doing so (it's old enough to not be worth much anymore) I keep remember it is way too much fun to hang on to it. |

My neighbor lost the timing chain and didn't have the tools or know how to fix it and was going to call the junkyard to come get it. My 14 yr old talked me into buying it and fixing it for him to drive in a couple yrs. 6 months and a fair amount of money later. It is running like a well oiled machine.

And on top of that, when your 14yr old "takes command" of the vehicle, there will be a pride there that no amount of money could purchase - including the "guiding father" influence so lacking in the society of today ...

The best part of the whole thing is he built the engine with me there to check on him and show him what was needed to be done next. When that engine fired off the first time. I not sure who was prouder me of him or him for building it. The memories that car have built over the last 6 months are truly priceless.
