New Ohio SL1 owner
Hi, I'm Matthew. I've wanted a Saturn for a while, and as of 4/1/15, I'm the proud owner of a white 2002 Saturn SL1 with only 139,400 miles on the clock. Looking forward to comparing notes with other owners.

That's a good looking car! You know, a couple years ago I bought one for my wife, such a good little car... Too bad she didn't keep oil in it, and it spun a rod bearing and we sold it... The guy I sold it to, still drives it. Keeps 20w-50 in the crankcase, and it stifles the knock...

Thank you. I feel really lucky to have gotten this car in this condition. Check engine light came on though, so need to get it into AutoZone to have them pull the codes. Doesn't seem to be running any different.

The most common reason for these things to throw a CEL is the frigging ECTS. If you need to replace it, DO NOT order one from Autozone. The aftermarket ones are not properly calibrated. You need to check the connector first and make sure it's not broken. It's a squeeze type, meaning you just get it between your thumb and index finger and squeeze it to pull it off. If it's not cracked and you need the ECTS, go to a Saturn friendly GM dealership and order a new one. It needs to be brass tipped. First things first, though. Go get the codes read and post them here.

Hey Matt .... just a heads up. Get your post count up to 10 as soon as you can. Those without 10 posts end up having their accounts shut down, rules of the road on this forum. Comment on pictures, add pictures just get your count up brother.
