New member, Dave and his SC2

Hello, I'm Dave. I have a 2002 SC2 in Cranberry with 190000 miles. My brother saved this car from a junk yard a few years ago. He gave me it to use around town as my college beater. Now he's going away, and I've inherited it. It's had a few issues, we've fixed a lot of stuff on it, and it still has a few issues I intend to fix in the future. At first I didn't really like it, but its charms have rubbed off on me.

I hope to share what I've done with my Saturn to help those who have similar problems, and look to you to answer some of the questions I have about my car. I'll be talking to you in the future.

I've posted a few photos of my car in the Gallery section. Enjoy!

I'm new to forum posting, so be patient with my oafishness. I count it a victory that I've made it this far! I'll get better as I use it though.

Dave

Welcome Dave!

Welcome to the forum, Dave. That's a nice looking little whip you have there. I can't believe someone was going to crush such a sweet ride.

Thanks for the welcome. My brother and I don't know why it was at the junk yard either. It had a couple nickel and dime problems, smooth running engine, no rust whatsoever, and just over 120k when my brother bought it.

So far it's been a gem and I'm glad I'm driving it.

welcome. If you do plan to stick around and we hope you do:

Please configure a signature like ours
First name/Location (state)
year model mileage for saturns
other cars you have (if you want to list them)

I see you found out how to make a signature -- if you could please standardize it, it'd be most appreciated.

Also:

We’re an active group of posters here at Saturnforum and we like to keep it that way. We therefore require new members to demonstrate their active nature by making 10 posts to the forum in the 1st week or so after creating an account. We understand that progress on some posted issues are slow, and might not generate many posts in the first week. But a new user may easily supplement these posts with pics of their Satty ride(s) (1 to a post), New Member Intro posts, responses to off topic posts, product reviews….

Users who do not meet the above requirements will have their accounts shut down for inactivity

So -- post your car pix here -- one to a post, and get your count up to ten. Also, if you really want to see the caliber of people you're dealing with---go check out the off topic posts and join in (or be horrified). We're generally rude but never mean. You'll find no stuffy P C folks here.

I'll do my best. Thanks for the tips Derf!

Nice grab Dave.

feels good doesn't it, fixing something that was thrown away. My personal fav car was an 87' Oldsmobile that was left for scrap and I fixed just like you. My knee's do not let me wrench much anymore.
