Hello all, my name is dennis & I own a 2005 Saturn Ion sedan. Love this car! It rides nice and gets ~30-32mpg. I just posted about a popping noise and i see a couple responses, i do appreciate the help. The car has ~116k and here are specs: L4 2.2L MFI DOHC (taken from VIN decoder online). didn't realize these small engines had Dual cams? but i'm learning something new constantly. I think i have a GM 4T45E transaxle (tranny); but still researching and next chance i get to crawl around, will look for a stamp or some engraving on the tranny.

Thanks for letting me on the forum & have enjoyed reading thru so far.
we also own a 2000 Honda Odyssey (~217k). trying keep her running too. My daughter drives a 2003 Dodge Ram 4x4 p/u with ~202k on it that we found lying dead at a used car lot. it's now a limping dead p/u :o

appreciate the welcome everyone, and thanks for your patience ... if i post in wrong place or am misguided, just lemme know as i learn to use the site. Also, i work more than full-time job plus am caring for our other daughter (4 yr old) when home :) so, if i'm slow to respond, it's only cause i'm trying to get back to the car & apply the advice you guys gave.

rubehayseed - nice aerial shot! is that a P51? i used to tow/fuel/wash private planes at LoveField Dallas for 6 years in my younger days. occasionally someone would take me up as payment when they were short on cash after a cleanup. good times. will definitely check out the Dodge help at allpar. tks!
