Dear Saturn Forum,
Last month I purchased a 1996 SL1 Sedan with 180k miles. I'm into it $1100 after purchase cost, plugs, a hose, a belt, a few cosmetic items, fluids, filters, and 120 hours of elbow grease . I love it. I am really having fun with my new "errands car."

This is my first Saturn and as I see it...

Saturn Pluses:
1. Easy to work on (plenty of room in the engine compartment and accessible under-carriage parts)
2. Stylish (this matters as I smile seeing it in the market parking lot next to a Pontiac)
3. Well Made (tight construction--one leak turned out to be a neglected seal)
4. Smart engineering (no nonsense and excellent design choices)
5. Great gas mileage
6. Domestic (jobs...)
7. Great support community (plenty of experienced, selfless folks with reliable repair information such as spark plug gap specifications and how-to tips such as how to trouble shoot a trunk leak)

Saturn Cons:
1. I am finding that cosmetic and collision parts are not widely available and comparatively costly (to say a still-in-production Silverado)
2. The frustration of not being able to purchase a 2015 Saturn

My Particular Car Pluses:
1. Good body condition (straight and no visible corrosion)
2. New tires (thank you, Bob)
3. Well-working cooling system

My Particular Car Cons:
1. Filthy interior
2. Mechanics were not perfectly maintained (fluids, filters, belts, plugs, wipers, valve cover gasket...)
3. Damaged headliner and sun visors
4. Damaged seats

Best,
OSU Beaver Fan

Joe, the pics are in the older models L Series Sedans and Wagons grouping. Check there please. I can't believe that Goalermo is the only one that's seen my pics. I love this car. I just put new hatch supports on it today and that sucker will spring up and hit you in the chin if you don't watch it now!
