Hi every one names dave,
Gonna be picking me up a 96 saturn SL2 with 180,000 80 percent highway miles, good interior, door on driverside has a hole about fist size and back driverside panel has one too from being backed into, no leaks, but burns a half a quart to a quart in a month. motor mounts are bad I belive cause theirs a constant shake at idle to speed, I heard they do this anyways tho? And never new that their mostly plastic body till I saw it. Good to be with ya guys. |
welcome
keep that oil topped off |
No, they don't always shake. Think seriously about replacing both top and bottom mounts, though -- and welcome to the Forum.

Thumbs up on that oil and mounts, Thx guys.

Welcome to the Saturn Forum.

Welcome to the forums. When the motor mounts were going bad in my Altima, the car would shake when I was turning. When they finally went bad, the entire car shook at higher speeds.

Hey welcome to the Saturn Forum ..............

Welcome to the forum. If you'll switch to a 10w-40 or even 20w-50, you can cut down on the oil consumption. Just ask Uncljohn.

Ive never owned a saturn that didnt burn oil, lol. And I have had three. Maybe I'll try using a different weight oil if this works. Does it not put some strain on the oil pump going with a thicker oil. I put a thicker oil in an old 4x4 pathfinder I had to get rid of a tick. The tick went away but the oil pump went out after some time. Ive been afraid to do this ever since. |
, and I've never had a Saturn that did burn oil and I've had 15 of them. Ran Mobil-1 from the first oil change and they never got near over heating.......makes a difference.
