New Member...

I'm a new member, a "car guy", hoping to find lots of good information and help along the way.

I have two Saturns, a low mileage '07 Aura I purchased last fall for my daughter (a freshman in college) and I just purchased (not in my hands yet) a '07 Saturn Sky (bluestone color) from a dealer in Florida (being shipped at the end of this month). My buddy has a Sky as well, which is what drove me to start pursuing one. My other "fun" cars are: a '76 Ford Maverick, a '86 Pontiac Fiero and a '87 Pontiac Fiero. Daily drivers are an '06 Pontiac Torrent and a '09 Chevy HHR.

Welcome Art.
Will be quite interested in your impressions of the non-turbo Sky....the only time I was in the driver's seat of one was to test drive the last Sky RL on my dealer's lot as things were winding down.

Was on a four lane state highway w jammed traffic so I never did get to test full straight line pull, but it did. Once I hit the windy side roads, I was gone for over an hour, taking curves at stupid speeds etc since I knew I would never own one.
I can't imagine the handling being too much different sans the reduced weight under the hood

I have driven my buddy's '07 non-turbo Sky, and it has plenty of power. Funny thing though, his daughter has a '08 Saturn Aura (same 2.4 engine) yet hers seems a little more "refined" and smoother running. Not sure if they made any changes to the engine between 2007 & 2008, or if maybe there is just more noise insulation in the Aura. The only thing I don't like with the Sky, reading the speedo is crazy difficult. I can't believe "someone" over at GM didn't flag that as an issue before they started cranking these out. Preference wise, I'd love to have the Sky exterior with the Pontiac Solstice dash & IP, that would be the best of both worlds!

Welcome to the forum, Art. I love the looks of the SKY, but have never driven one. I'm sure it would be fun. Now I'm jealous of derf and you! LOL
