Yes, a new mechanic. I had someone I trusted before I moved, but it's neccessary when one moves to a new city, just like finding new dentist and doctor. It's also time consuming as is a full-time job and caring for an discabled child. Somewhere in there maybe I'll find time to memorize how an AC works and it's parts. If I find a lot of time, I noticed there are videos on you-tube of how to DIY. Thanks for the ideas, although I really don't need to be told to be polite. I really just hoped to see if others' had many problems with old Vues as I decide whether to keep it.

Some people get all confrontational trying to prove they know something when interacting with their mechanic. There is no need for that and it is counterproductive.
I did not assume you were confrontational -- I merely stated the obvious.

Can't tell you how many hotheads come through this site and make their situations worse by arguing with the person who is trying to help them,

My apologies if I offended you in any way with that or any other comment.
