Default New to Forum

I have a 1996 station wagon that my parents bought new (gold color/gold interior). 33k original miles, with ~13k of that while being pulled behind a motor home. My step-mother couldn't drive anymore, so I flew to Indiana last year and drove it back to Atlanta area. Other than a little "power shortage" through the mountains, it did great. Always been garaged and obviously not driven much. Beautiful condition. I am using it for my daily driver (less than 4 miles round trip/day). It still has the tow bar attachments on the front and I have the front bra.

My only issue is a left rear power window that quit working from either switch - will be checking electric connectors soon. Anyway, I look forward to participating in the forum. Thanks.

Roy

Welcome!

You'll want to get that oil changed if you haven't already.
And use 10-W30 going forward unless your winters dictate otherwise.

Welcome to the forum, indeed. If you ever decide to sell the wagon, post it here. I'm sure it would sell.

Thanks for the welcome. I changed the oil and checked all hoses and belts, fluids and tires before leaving Indiana (and changed it again in December). My Stepmother had the oil changed every 6 months, even when there was only 300-500 miles since the last change!

Loose connector on the window switch - everything working now. Car is garaged when not driven - sure doesn't take as much space as the '66 Buick. I will probably have to sell it within a year - retiring and downsizing from a 4 to probably a 2 car garage. But, enjoying driving it now.

Sounds like you should name the car "goldmine"! Enjoy many happy miles with it! Even with less-than enthusiastic upkeep, 200k miles is easily reached with these cars. Enjoy! and welcome!

1966 Buick Riviera GS, black with dove (off-white) interior. I have owned the car for 46 years.

Must be pretty if you've kept it that long.

I'm a sucker for a 3rd gen with that rear window. The overall shape and contours of that car so beautifully unique.

Haven't seen one in 20 years.

Please post a pic of your Buick. Derf would absolutely love it and it would be a nice gesture on your part. Without derf, this forum would fold like an accordion.
