Default New on the block

Howdy yall my name is shane and I have a 1994 saturn sc2 with a sW clip on the front so no pop up headlights... I'm loving my car tbh I just ran into a recent problem that I was reading in another forum. Got some funky wiring going on likely bc of the clip swap. Hoping to get my running lights running normally again without needing to use a bigger Amp fuse. It's normally a 10 but it's working now after multiple fuses with a 20. Besides that I do have other questions sorta but it's a fun car. My motor seems to burn alot of oil tho that's for sure. I still use heavy duty oil stabilizer at every oil change tho so it's happy and way better then when I first bought it over a year ago. Lol I call her Sally

You best find what is with the circuit. You are asking for a fire or at the least the wire will melt into the harness and who knows what you may get.

Did you check to see that the wiring harness pinouts match the connectors you're plugging them into?

How are the lights wired into the stalk? There will be positions in the rotation for the headlights, motors, parking lamps. Without the motors there, you're trying to run current to a non-existent device. Where does the motor wiring lead now?

What gen sw2 clip is on there.

I 2nd Gary's statement about sorting that wiring out asap. If you have a fuse blowing at 10 amps, that doesn't blow with a 20 amp, then you are somehow overloading the circuit, probably trying to run current, additional current, through a path totally unintended.

You are literally playing with a fire.

Compare the wiring diagrams for your 94 SC2 with flip up lights and whatever year SW2 that clip is from.

phew i wish I knew it would make things easier. I did follow wiring and it went into a hole in the fire wall but I haven't taken the dash apart yet to see if that's where they lead. I haven't checked the pins yet bc recently it's been insanely cold outside. 🙃 the lights inside my car worked perfectly fine till about a week ago, it's been snowing here and I did go off the road last week into a ditch. Idk if I messed up something or not but I'm slowly trying to fix it all. If I were to guess I'd think It'd be a 94sw2 clip

No guessing here.

Please peruse the internet until you find what year (93-96) 1st gen or 97-98 2nd gen the sw2 nose clip is from.

Did you purchase the car this way or do the mod yourself?

Are you having other lighting issues?

Try disconnecting the lights at the various connectors front AND rear
Use a test light and a fuse or replace the fuse with a light bulb...it is going to take a little bit of creativity.
If you have everything disconnected, the bulb shouldn't light (with the switch turned on) (no path to ground through the light filaments)
If it does still light then you'll find a pinched wire or a rub through, something touching ground that shouldn't be.

Let us know what you find
Post a picture of you and sally on your prom date, I love to know what I am working with

Good luck and ***
*** like everyone has said, the fix IS NOT to just keep putting a bigger fuse in until it no longer blows...
