My first Saturn - a 2001 SL1

Just bought my first Saturn...a friend's husband died, leaving her with 3 vehicles. She's keeping the larger Saturn and her Prius, so she sold me his 01 SL1 w/69k miles for $1800. Aside from needing a MAJOR cleaning inside, it runs and drives GREAT!

Needs a set of tires and a front right side marker assembly to pass MD inspection. I still need to check the brake pads but they feel fine.

From all the reading I've done, I'm pretty excited to have this as my new DD.

Any advice/input greatly appreciated!

Scott welcome to the site. Let me just say CHANGE THE OIL & FILTER every 3,000 miles or 6,000 miles if you use MOBIL-1. I've had 10 S-Cars over the years and not a one of them burnt a drop of the MOBIL-1 I pu in them. Change the oil.

That'll work out great! I'm big on oil changes!

Spent 6 hours cleaning it yesterday afternoon..from front to back. Also changed the oil/filter and air filter. Gonna get a new set of tires installed this afternoon. Lovin' it!
