L.A. Checking in

I drive a 2002 SC1 that I bought to last me 6 months, I am going on 6 years now. I have only broken down once when my starter went out but I was able to get it rolling and pop the clutch so I was not stranded.
I am a Quality Assurance Manager and ISO Administrator for a medium sized manufacturing company in Los Angeles. I have been a Quality Professional for over 25 years with 18 of those years in the aerospace industry. My specialty is writing programs for multi-format measurement systems but I am also fluent working with electron beam deposition multi layer coating and ion beam sputtering coating both done in a vacuum environment. Loose micro abrasive grinding, super polishing, fusion welding, tooling development, R & D,etc. I performed the inspection on the ring laser gyroscopes used in the F15 Eagles, M1A1 Tank, Self Propelled Howitzer Missiles, Patriot Missiles, etc. I have done extensive work for the D.O.D. but I am no longer a part of the war machine. Just a guy gettin old who likes to spend time working on my little car. People ask me all the time why I don't go buy a new car, drive a BMW or Mercedes like my peers. Anyone can drive a new car but there is a certain satisfaction to be had when you put your blood and sweat into something. This car holds a significant sentimental value for me as I stated earlier, I only needed it to last me 6 months when I was released from Corcoran State Prison a few years ago but this car has been dependable and reliable that I could not get rid of it. Instead for it's loyal service, I have done a number of upgrades which I will post separately. I apologize for the long boring biography but the site asked so... |
welcome, Felix.
Obviously you've put a few hours into your ride. I must say I've only ever liked 2 of the 25K 3rd gen SCs out there and yours is the second, because of what it is--and what it isn't. Again, welcome |
Welcome to the forum. You're obviously an intelligent man, so I was just wondering if the education came before or after the incarceration? And like derf said, perfectly okay not to answer any questions you don't want to. I like the looks of your Saturn. Most of us aren't lucky enough to find a six month car that lasts 6 years. For me it's usually the other way around! LOL
