Default Introducing myself

I'm Brian, but most people call me BRUTUS (from Popeye). I have a Satty that I both love, & despise @ times. My Ford Focus broke down (thrown rod) & my brother in law gave us our Satty almost a year & a half ago. the tranny was slipping when we got it (she went into reverse when she wanted to).

Welcome to the forum, Brutus. So you were given a car with a slipping transmission. Did you keep driving it like that or did you try to resolve the issue at first? If you just kept driving it, then shame on you. A fluid and filter change might have helped. If you tried to resolve it and couldn't, you should have been here long ago.

First thing I did when I got her home, was bring her to a 'reputable' transylvania place in Lake Charles & have her looked @. 2nd thing was new filter, fluid & inside filter as well. Found a new transylvania @ a salvage yard that has a thousand less miles than mine for $350. Haven't decided whether to go that route, or rebuild it myself. (It'll be a first for me either way).

I have been here since jump street with the car, gleeNing info as a guest lurker. Just finally decided to join.

Brutus -- start a thread in the S Series sedan section about your tranny and we'll see if we can get it working as designed....(we try to keep tech questions out of the new member area (but if you've been lurking, you already know that)

I'll do that. I was referring to the fact I should be ashamed of myself for not getting her looked @ sooner. Thanks derf

Ahh, good old Lake Charles, Louisiana. Drove through it a bunch but never stopped.
I live in Covington, north side of lake pontchartrain, if youre familiar with the nola area at all.
