I am new 94 Saturn SL2 300k+

I found this site googling for answers for my 1994 Saturn SL2 5speed for a tach issue. It is one of my 2 "keepers" as I tried to replace the car with something newer and faster and for some reason could not get them to my liking even though they were newer and faster cars, I just liked how I got my saturn better, which is weird but it is what it is. Bought the car with 79k miles roughly in 1999/2000 for $3200. And it has treated me well and was my Daily Driver from 1999-2015ish when I tried to replace it with a couple of fails (2003 Mitsubishi Evolution VIII, and then a 2004 Dodge Neon SRT4). Anyways this car and a 89 Firebird GTA TransAm were the 2 cars I ended up keeping, as in my attempts to replace them with something newer better I kinda somewhat failed? Umm odometer stopped at 180k, and 5 years ago I estimated the car had roughly 300k miles, cuz I used to drive average about 25k / year. Anyways, recently been trying to fix things that have failed on both cars. Anyways a moderator already answered one my help questions regarding the tach. Thanks @Derk. Anyways I still enjoy driving the car, and it get's good gas milage, and with it being a 5 speed, I just feel like the car has lasted a long time and is still lasting. I'm kinda try to slowly work on things that we been neglecting on it probably over the past 5-8 years. I'll share a shocker.. knock on wood, after years of AC not working, we gave it a charge and knock on wood about 3-4+ weeks later, it is still working. Now if I can get lucky like this on my firebird lol.

How much oil do you burn per 5k mi?

Oh gosh derf. Let me tall ya how lucky I got as I started driving it again. It was on our list of things to do to replace the valve cover gasket cuz it has(had!) a slow leak. But then I did a oil change on it after being over due for years, I know sounds bad, but it was mostly sitting and just driven tried to weekly but possibly monthly... Anyways knock on wood, the leak sealed itself. So its not using as much oil as before. It's hard to say as I haven't driven it 5k miles. But I check it pretty often cuz it has a pretty loud exhaust that I like and to me it sounds the best when the oil is somewhere in the middle of the full zone on the dipstick. So I tend to "top it off" maybe with a quarter of a quart, of half a quart, depending on how low it got, back up to "half full". but it used to smoke from the oil leak out from the hood, not super noticably, but yeah you can see it sometimes when stopped, but now I dont see it smoking anymore.
