I'm Patrick, and I'm about to get my first Saturn. It's an '04 Ion Level 1, one owner car with 114,xxx miles on it. I'm completely new to the GM family, as I've driven mostly Fords and Dodges my whole life. My first question is: Are there any common issues I need to be on the lookout for?

EDIT IF IT is an ion 1 then it is a sedan. The 03 and 04 quad coupe version was offered with only one automatic transmission choice. The vti or CVT better known as continuously variable transmission.

This was not the case for the sedans, so you are in the clear with regards to the CVT.

There are a few ion experts on the board. Hopefully, they will stop by soon. I don't want to scare you with any more potentially wrong information as that is typically what happens when I try to answer ion posts.
