aftermarket header
I need help finding a header for my 98 saturn sc2 1.9dohc. I read that obx makes one along with pacesetter but I have searched and searched and I cannot find one for my car anywhere. On the obx website it says they have one for the car but I can't buy it directly from them it has to be from one of their dealers but I can't find a list of their dealers so i can buy one. I can find one on amazon i think for the 1.9sohc but i can't find one for the 1.9dohc. If someone could please send a direct site for me to buy one if there is one out there or if there is one out there that is for a different car but works just the same for mine with no customization needed which is prob a long shot on that one.
Very little aftermarket support for the s cars as well as the rest of the Saturn line unfortunately. The headers you seek will not significantly increase performance of your DOHC. There were never really any aftermarket things that would unless you did everything from the throttle body to the end of the exhaust.
Back in the day people would put turbos on the DOHC but it had to be controlled by a standalone controller because no one ever hacked the PCM so there was no way to change the stored air fuel mappings.
Unfortunately, GM had already put the kabash on Saturn and specifically on extending the life of the s car. Imagine if they had sold it with a V6 option, sport suspension, factory supercharged, different levels of upgrades. With a redesigned engine, that car could have been....... We'll never know.
You stand again much more of a power increase by transplanting a different engine into your SC2. People have substituted the LNF with turbo along with anything and everything else you could possibly think of. But a lot of fabrication is involved and it's not cheap.
My advice is to love your Saturn the way it is.
