2009 Saturn Vue broken rear door lock
 

I have a broken door lock on the rear door driver's side. For several months it would only lock manually, then after closing the door one day heard a clunking sound, metal dropping. Now cannot open from the outside, but still can from the inside? Is it reasonable for me to get it fixed by my mechanic? What would be involved? If the actuator is toast for only that door, should I have it repaired? Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

If there's not much else wrong with it and you plan to keep it, replace it now while the parts are available.
