Default 2008 Saturn Sky Redline - What to do?

Have a 2008 Saturn Sky Redline with 1,800 miles on it. Bought it to serve a purpose (cancer). Thought if I'm heading out will have fun adn get a sports car. Got rid of the cancer, kept the car. The purpose is gone. Was hoping a collector would be interested. Every year I have had the oil changed, tires rotated, xx point inspection at the dealership. I know that the transmission, brake and coolant fluids should be changed. I know that after 17 years, should have new tires. Don't know if I should try to sell after doing all that or just try to sell at a lower price and if so, what price? Any assistance is appreciated. Mary

Congratulations on beating the cancer!

I have no idea what your car is worth. I would try Hemmings, they are a periodical that list classic cars and trucks plus parts listings.

Best of luck with your sale.

I have to agree with Andy. Especially on beating the cancer. That's a beautiful car and I hope you sell it soon and get a good price for it. I'd say it's in mint condition, but I'm not an appraiser.

Awesome news about the lack of cancer.
Have you ever had the other fluids changed / flushed/exchanged during the life of the vehicle?

No. Every time I have taken to the dealership it has run great. However, I am told that the fluids should be changed. Only had the oil changed.

Regardless of what you do with the vehicle, I would strongly advise that you have the brake fluid flushed and refilled.
Same with the cooling system including the heater core. With the cooling system, there is electrochemistry going on while it's just sitting there. Not clear what or how much has reacted and possibly left deposits or corrosion in the radiator or the block.

Seems like you should also have the turbo checked for oil leaks. A lot of seals, if not kept wet, will dry out, shrink, and leak. If you have been driving it every now and then then it shouldn't be that much of an issue with oil leaks.

5 speed or automatic?

Also, thank you for the advice. Do all this before I sell it.

Auto trans fluid too.

My angle:

Even though not a mainstream collector car, if you want to get top dollar for it, present it to the buyer as an up to date maintenance wise vehicle. Doubtful people will test drive it, so have all the mechanicals in order.

Without doing so, I believe it will come across as partially neglected, and people will low ball you claiming oh it could have all these different problems once they ask for the service records. By doing the required maintenance that is due now, you take that off the table.

I don't know how much plastic is on that car in terms of internal handles and switches and such. Even without being in the sun, it tends to dry out and become brittle. Do all of those controls and things like the rag top work and seal properly?

To be clear, I'm not picking at your car. I'm trying to help you cover all the bases to get top dollar for the vehicle. The alternative is selling it as is, which will bring you quite a few less $$$ but would then be somebody else's issue. It's kind of like a planned barn find.

Up to you which way you want to go.
No judgment here, just trying to help a fellow Saturn owner out.
