2006 Vue V6 AWD

What "special tools" are needed to change out the timing chain on my Vue? I live in South Dakota and not one Chevy, GM or Honda dealer service department in the state have these tools to do the job. Thanks.

I don’t see a “special” tool set for the J35 Honda engine. Looks like a fairly simple waterpump and idler setup. The kits include the tensioner, belt But no tools

As far as I know just the Honda crank bolt tool for the 3.5

Now that you mention it I do have a tool to hold the balancer on a 4 cylinder Honda. That car is also the reason I own a 3/4 drive impact.

There is one after all. It's a Lyle 77080 19mm Harmonic Balancer/Crank Pully socket. It's used to loosen the crank pulley bolt with an impact driver and is specific to the J35. I called every GM, Chevy and Honda dealership's service departments in my state and they don't have this $18 to $25 dollar socket to do the job and weren't willing to get one. I called a local mechanic told him I'd get the socket, or he could and charge me for it, and all's good again.
