I need some insight/trouble shooting help.Recently the fan stays on and you have to pull the relay from fuse box, otherwise it stays on even with key out. (Drains battery) I had been having problems with ecm not communicating with motor. I took it to a shop and they said they were able to pull codes and 2 were coming up. Clogged catalytic converter and open circuit with fan assembly. So i agreed to let them change out fan assembly. ($700 later) it latest 3 days and is still doing the same thing. I took it back to shop and they rechecked it and said everything else was checking out and that it must be ecm. They wanted to charge me 850 for new ecm, no labor and with shop charges added on new ticket would be 950 out door. I said nope. A buddy asked if original fan was working before switched it out/yes it was. He also said they should have started at ecm since its like power plant for car that’s where electrical components are grounded to, then started working out from there. Any advice and thank you

Please go to AutoZone or similar and get the codes read and post here in the format Pxxxx where each x is a number from 0 thru 9.

P0240 for example. We need the codes, not the description of the codes. Do it with the relay in.

This can occur by design or be the result of something going bad.
