on my 99sl2 the resinator atleast thats what i think it is is rusted and leakin i was thinking either stick some pipe in there or get a cherry bomb and stick it there.

 

im lookin for it to not make it really any louder thats why i was thinkin the cherry bomb. so it would act kind of like a resinator.. either way i go it will be welded and just looking for sugestions

 

ummm...how about replacing with an actual resonator? I'm no exhaust expert, but wouldn't it change the backpressure if you put a muffler in place of the resonator?

 

backpressure already changed with it leaking and rusted..... talked to the local dealer the parts guy said i may as well throw some pipe in there they also want 224 just for the part f that

 

and the resinator is basicly a mid muffler to catch more unwanted frequenciea from the exhauast

 

took the plunge bought the bomb worked great only diff between stock and the bomb is the baffling on the inside of the stock just stick out further into the exhaust flow

 

if u where standing next to my running car even of i reved it you wouldnt know it wasnt stock unless i told you im verry happy with the results

Yo dude I took my resinator rite out and put in a str8 pipe. Also installed a V-Force muffler and my cars awsome. It actually created more back pressure which is nice when u let the gas off because it allows you to use youre engine as a break to slow you down. And the pops of the back pressure sound awsome.
