What Next?

This frigging car is driving me nuts. I had changed out the valve body just a few days ago and thought all was good. Took it to see my mother this morning and after a couple of miles, the SES light came on. I pulled over and let it sit a couple of minutes and ran the codes. Got an 11, 22, 25, 72, 74, 81, 97 and 98. I'm thinking most the these suckers are the result of a faulty ECTS. Looking at the one on the car, I can see that it has been replaced, but I doubt that it's an AC/Delco and most likely an Autozone part. I'm gonna get a genuine AC part this week and swap them out and see what happens. Different sites I've found on the web give different explanations for the codes from what this ****ty Haynes manual shows. Most point to the engine temp and the ECTS, so I'll change it. If that doesn't solve the problem, then I'm going to try to sell this sum beech. Enough is enough.

Change the electrical connector along with the ECTS sensor itself ... Will add about $15 to the cost, but it corrects what could be a bad/loose/faulty connection problem ...

Will do, Mike. I'm just about fed up with this car, though.

It would be more fun to burn it.

I'd be tempted, Joe, but already have over $1500 in it now. I ordered the ECTS and pigtail this morning. Total cost including tax was $51. What happened to the "around forty bucks"? I don't really car that much, as I got genuine AC/Delco parts coming and if that doesn't work, I may start parting this sum beech out. The engine has had a new head gasket, water pump and valve cover on it. It's very clean and runs great for a while. I'm really hoping this does the trick.
