What does this do?

Just bought a 2008 Saturn Vue Red Line. Next to the light controls there is a switch (wheel, like your dash dimming switch) with a icon of a foot on it. You can turn it to a red light or blue light or between. The dealer did not know what it did and it is not in the owner manual. We turn it to each possible position and can not see a difference in anything. Any ideas what this does.

I think it controls the degree of red and blue s h i f t in the optical light spectrum you see when observing the stars through the moon roof or the windshield.

No, I don't think that is it. For one, we have no Stars here; more of an HBO area.

Touche.

That was supposed to be red and blue s h i f t but I got distracted.

Now searching for serious answer....

does it maybe move the foot pedals closer or further away from the driver's seat?

derf 09-10-2015 12:37 PM

maybe a temperature control for the HVAC vent that points at your feet?

Oh, man! You found the illusive model with the heated/cooled pedal covers! Man, those are hard to find! Of course, that wasn't a well thought-out feature, because in the overwhelming majority of the time, we wear shoes as we drive, making the heated pedals redundant... If only the automakers spent their time worrying about fuel economy, or performance instead of the temperature of the drivers feet...

Seriously though I have no clue what that button does, but it's description points to exactly such a feature, although for reasons outlined above, such technology might never exist in anything short of a hyper-luxury car...

Draconis?

Is it an HVAC foot vent temp control?

Dave4422 09-25-2015 01:37 PM

Did this car have adjustable under dash lighting? Does finding an answer really matter anymore?

derf 09-25-2015 02:13 PM

Dude's banned,

And my answer of HVAC temp control for foot area is obviously correct.

If there's even room for another knob,
Which there is not if you look at the owner's manual.

Unless it's small and custom aftermarket.
