traction control?

ok guys....never driven one of these cars in proper working order. when i turn on the car, even if i have disabled it prior to shutting it off, the traction control is activated...this normal?

Ya, the "traction control" always resets when you restart the car. Never did get why they call it "traction control" in the saturns. It's more of a throttle limiter rather than controlling the differential and transmission to allow for traction compensation to the tire(s) which is(are) slipping.
