Switching Wheels

Hi everybody.

A question regarding swapping wheels. I just recently acquired a 99 SL with 14 inch rims P175/65 R 14 (I'm guessing). I have a DEAD 96 SC2 parked in my driveway. Can I swap out the 15 inch wheels with the P215/75 R15's to the SL? (My numbers might be off, but I'm certain that they are the proper sizes for the respective cars).

Tread on SL is sketchy, I'm suprized I passed inspection, tread on the SC2 is almost new.

Thanks for the help and guidence.

go for it (no obvious reason it wouldn't fit; SL2s came with 15" wheels standard....)

I know I will be muttering to myself using terms like "idot" and my favorite nickname "Captain Obvious". Such a simple answer. I now feel like a complete idiot.

When the shoe fits.

no need to feel idiotic -- people have asked much more obvious things on this forum -- and they don't get the polite response......

Shoes?

OK, but if the shoe fits, how can I hold the tools?

Have derf do the work.

Sw2cam,

Are you trying to pimp me out again?

Due to catastophic side wall failure yesterday coming home from work, I switched the wheels from the dead '96 SC2. Took it out for a spin, possible a weeee bit'o road hum. I probably should have an alignment done. For now, I'll crank up the tunes. Rotors look fine, pads are in need of replacement before the dull hollow grinding sets in.

Gotta get more bling for the buggy.
