surging issue
 

Hey there. I got a question regarding my 2002 l200. It has the 2.2 in it. When I am idling the car starts surging. Doesnt matter if it is in gear or not. Any suggestions?

Check for a vacuum leak around the throttle body.

or intake manifold --spray some injector cleaner or such around those gaskets and see if it affects rpms

Also when I take off and the car changes gears, it makes a squel sound. I changed the tensioner and belt. Could a vaccum leak also be responsible?

Got me on that one, but I guess anything's possible? Does it affect the performance when you hear the squeal?

Could be the transmission

Several possibilities come to mind --> What does the "squel" sound like? Tires, belts, bearings, (maybe even an excited teenager?) lol
