Hi folks,


I have a 93 SL with 170k miles. When it's running, the engine idle jumps immediately to over 4000 rpm, and edges up from there. It's nearly redlined a couple of times.


I replaced the IAC and cleaned the Throttle Body Injector, but that didn't help. Does anyone know what might be causing this?

it sounds like it could be a computer issue...any CEL?

 

Actually a pretty easy fix as it turns out. The PCV hose was cracked, letting in a ton of air.

Yeah, that makes sense. My PVC was bad, and it fixed my idle problem.
