Shifter Help

Well the shifter I got broke tonight... Really sad that the Satty is gonna be out of commission for a little while... My question is, is there a conversion that can be done, like to a shifter that isn't made out of plastic? Or maybe an OEM one so I don't have to go get another one from the junkyard...

Did the shifter break, or was it just the bushing? They do make a metal bushing to replace the plastic one . Look on Ebay.

The bushing seems fine. I am pretty sure it's the big plastic piece on the top of the shifter assembly.

I think the knob just pulls off (not threaded) -- search the internet as I know it's been discussed -- if it is a pull off, do it cross handed and remove face from work area so you don't punch yourself in the face

I put another one in just so I can drive it until I find a way to get something better in. Do you know if the Ion could be fabricated to fit.

complete different setup for the ion shifter i believe, so no.
