I have a 96 sl1 and had a leak from my transmission filter, i replaced the filter and changed the fluid and the service engine light still has not gone away. I have disconnected the battery yet no luck also i have gotten a "no codes" reading from my code reader. The service engine light does not come on immdeiately it comes on after about 5 minutes of driving or warming up.

anyone know if this could be an emmisions problem of some sort, i have read that if it is it might need to go through 40 warm up cycles before the light will stop appearing.

thanks for your help

Hey booger,

If the service engine light is on, there are codes your reader is just not reading them.

Get codes read at Autozone or similar for free.
