ok i really need help

I have a 2001 saturn l100 2.2l ecotech auto. i was doing the head gasket, my intake cam shaft 4 points on the sprocket, how can i rotate it back in to time, also i need to take the crank shaft pully off, but it keeps spinning, does anyone have an ideas on how to hold them still so i can remove the bolt, and if they are press on or bolt nad which direction to turn the bolt to get it out

My tranny dipstick location is based on the dohc because that's what I have. I would think it would be in approximately the same place on an sohc

To rotate the camshaft, use a 24mm open-end wrench on the camshaft flats. Camshaft should only be rotated clockwise (when facing the cam sprockets from the passenger side of the vehicle).

There's a tool that holds the spokes of the crank balancer. If you're handy, you can fab something with schedule pipe. The crank bolt is normal threaded and torqued to yield so you must use a new bolt every time. I don't recall the crank pulley being a press fitting. I think it's keyed, but it's been a few years since I've done one of these L61's. Recommend replacing the front crank seal while you're there with it all torn apart.
