I have a 97 SC-1 witha roughidel. In neutral 700 RPM, it shakes bad, in drive (600 RPM) it's less.I bought it new and it has always had a rough idle but now seems worse!I talked to a Saturn Salesman in El Cajon who told me that all 97 engines shake, it's the nature of the beast! Is this true or was there a bad batch of Harmonic Balencers or bad injectors (I use injector cleaner), EGR Valve or what??? Any ideas? The car runs great otherwise, as long as I don't let a dealernear it! I really gotta wonder about those guys!


If interested, my list of problems with the 98 SL-1was brakes only but the 97 SC-1: Brakes, Brakes and more Brakes,Drivers Seat, Tracking, Engine Temp Sensor ($14 part but major componant), Right Quater Pannel not fastened-form the factory, Bearing Cage broken in Transmission ($1400 rebuild- wow), rough idel, changed stationary ideler 4 times so far, Air Conditioning, on 3rd Alternator- Factory was not sympathetic!


I've fixed most problems myself as 3 different dealres were of no help. If you have similar problems, I'll be glad to share my experience.
