Trying to replace the P Brake shoes. After two days if colorful displays of senglish words and lots of body pain, I got everything put back together. However, the rotor/drum will not go back on. The adjustment screw is all the way in. I am not sure I have the shoes on correctly. Pictures in my Haynes manual are horrible at best. I have searched high and low for a video or better pictures but after the 10th search, varying phrases, and getting info on F150s and Honda Civics, with a dash if Saturn's that don't match the LW200, I am at my wits end.
any pics you guys have of properly installed shoes would be greatly appreciated.
Here is a drawing from the fsm. The parking brake cables can stick and not return to the released position. With the adjuster completely collapsed I would bet that either the cables are sticky or the adjuster under the parking brake handle in the car needs to be backed off. The cable set is still available but is cumbersome to replace. The cable set wraps around the fuel tank and is above the heat shield in the tunnel. The exhaust has to come out and so does the heat shield all the way to the engine.
Thank you for the information. I gave it another look today and that is exactly what the problem is, stuck cable. Doesn't sound like a fun or cheap job. Not what I need right now.
