Instrument Panel Lights

Hello everyone. I have a 2003 Ion I have a question about. On my instrument panel, the backlights work for my speedometer and my tach that light up the numbers at night so I can see them. However, the backlight for my oil/fuel panel have gone out and I can't read them at night. How would one replace this bulb or make it so the backlight works again? Thanks for any help.

Pull the center pod and replace the bulbs.

How would you remove the center pod?

Not sure on yours because it is not the same as the 2007 ION.

Pull the ring around shifter
Pull the shifter back all the way
Pull the shifter cover
Pull the radio cover

Remove closest 7mm screw above radio
Pull center pod cover off

You'll then see 3 (7mm) screws that need to be removed in order to lift the gauge pod out in order to get to the backside to remove the bulbs.

Buy a few bulbs from the dealer before you start. They do not have them at CheckerAdvanceNapaZone.

Other then the screws mentioned , everything is snapped into place. Take a little to pop them out.

With a little time and thought, you'll find it easy to do. After you do it once it'll take no more then 10 mins if you need to do it again.
