Help wiring issues radio dashlights
 

I have a 98 sl2 and I put an after market radio in and my wiring is now all messed up. You can turn the lights on without the key turned and the radio Comes on also when you crank the car up the dash lights come on and then you turn the headlights on and the dash lights turn off (they are backwards) so I put the factory radio in and I get no dash lights at all the only way I get (backwards) dashlights is with the after market stereo. I thought I fixed the problem the dashlights were working constantly I was like heck yeah but one night I got pulled over for no taillights and come to find out I had a blown fuse under the hood replaced the fuse fixed the taillights but all of my old problems came back please help I am a pizza delivery driver and I need to know how fast im going at night

That is way avante garde, but as with advante garde, a rather useless configuration.
you didn't use an adapter did you? Sigh

Doesn't sound like you blew the inst panel fuse if you can get them to come on, even in backwards mode.

Make and Model of stereo (be specific)
Clearly explain which color harness wire is connected to which color radio wire

We'll see what we can do.
