Help Replacing 2002 Vue v4 engine.

Hi Saturnforum.com, new guy here, seeking help with a project I have. I have a 2002 Saturn Vue, with a manual transmission and a 4 cylinder engine. I'm trying to do an engine swap with the same type of engine, and I have two questions:

1. What tools will be needed?

and,

2. What are the procedures for doing so?

If anyone can help me out, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If you have to ask those two questions, this isn't something you need to attempt by yourself. I suggest you find someone with mechanic skills and get some help.

I do know someone who has mechanical skills, he isn't familiar with Saturn engines. That's why I posted this. If anyone has a PDF version of the service manual for this vehicle that would be all I needed as well.

You might try looking up a dude called richpin on youtube. He does a LOT of Saturn videos. IDK if he does a complete engine swap or not, though.

Rube is being honest. He's not dissing you.
Engine swaps are not something you want to take on without an experienced guide/mentor to teach you the right way and the wrong way to do things, along with trick that will save you hours.
I'm sure your friend would pick up on it pretty easily.

Unfortunately, I think the only true service manuals in pdf format are several hundred dollars.

Watch ebay -- full FSMs (field service manuals) used by the saturn techs come up for sale now and then, THe main problem is the cost of shipping them.

Good luck on your journey and keep us posted. You're welcome to ask any questions you want and we will do our best to respond.
I would suggest starting a separate thread called Qwert's 2002 Vue Engine Swap or similar. That way you can record your progress, hurdles, questions, all in one place.
