My car runs like crap!!
These are the codes I pulled up, Can anyone HELP!!!

P0301 Cylinder 1 misfire
P0340 Cam Position Sensor A bank 1 curcuit malfunction
P0341 Cam Position Sensor A bank 1 curcuit malfunction range peformance
P0507 Idle control system RPM too High.
Thanks for helping.

P0301, P0340 and P0341 can be due to bad spark plugs, bad wires, corroded terminals on the coil packs, poorly grounded coil pack, crossed ignition wires or oil in sthe spark plug wells.

P0507 could be a failing IAC (Idle Air Control) sensor. Try pulling off the throttle body first and cleaning the gunk inside the intake manifold, the throttle plate and the IAC pintle and the location is rests into on the throttle body before replacing the sensor.

How hard was is to swap from sohc to a dohc?
I was thinking of doing the same thing. What would I need to buy along with the motor/trans and ECU?Edited by: Shadowman750

You'll actually need less parts than I did because your SOHC is MPFI instead of TBI.

You'll need;
-The engine
-Transmission
-PCM
-Gauge cluster

Its all year dependent, what year is your car?

I have an 02 SL1. It's a gutless wonder!!
I only have 50200mi on it and I can't believe I am having this trouble with it!
Where is a good place to get those parts?

Shadowman750 03-10-2008 07:37 AM

I replaced the plugs and wires this weekend, it seemed to help but I couldn't replace the coils this weekend, every autoparts store arounf me had to order them!
I also discovered I have an intake manifold gasket leak!
How hard is it to do myself?

Shadowman750 03-27-2008 12:03 PM

I replaced the intake manifold gasket and cleared the codes and now my car runs like it did when it was new.
Thanks for all the advice!!!
