Front disc brakes
No real sense of urgency on this one. For somebody with OK mechanical skills, what is the difficulty rating for changing front rotors and pads? I know they will need to be done sometime soon (5K miles or so). I'm thinking I will get new bits and pieces at AutoZone/NAPA/Advance Auto.
Any suggestions on brands to get (or avoid)? Thanks in advance. "I know just enough to hurt myself and put others at risk" |
Make your life easy, buy a disc brake pad spreader. Of the three or four I have, this is the only one I use.
http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item....re&dir=catalog Myself I'd buy OEM pads from the dealer and be done with it. Then it's as easy as cake, with no squeeking pads. Oh when you have your rotors turned don't take them to AdvanceCheckerZoneAutoParts. |
+1 OEM parts and get rotors turned by someone at a real shop who knows to do both sides

Also, when you get the rotors turned, make sure they don't take them 'undersize'. They will warp .....
