First dumb question

I am new to forums so I have much basics to learn. What is meant by sticky ?

derf Feb 19, 2022 12:59 AM

Sticky equals post that stays at top of list of posts. Like putting a sticky note on the top of the refrigerator door. It never moves from where you stick it.

For clarification, why did you choose this form to ask the question?

toby7878 Feb 20, 2022 08:38 AM

Did not know where else to ask

It's all good.

Do you have a second stupid question?

(All in good fun...ask away..alot of sarcasm around here but we're nice people)

Being a knowledgeable sc2 guy, you are now my new best friend.

That's not a question, and friendship is a 2 way street. Or 3 or 4, depending on your lifestyle choices

But I do have a not too dumb third question. Apon inspection I realized it is time for a new radiator. Original 1995 is still in there and has to go. Manual trans. so no holes there for auto trans. lines. Question is the replacement one on rock auto has the holes there for a automatic if needed. I don’t mind the holes but do I really want a trans cooler in my new radiator taking up space that could be better used for coolant? Just a thought

derf Feb 22, 2022 05:07 AM

Don't know for sure, but I believe it's just empty space down there if there is no trans cooler so that the profile of the part is the same.

Otherwise the cooling system volume would change plus they would have to manufacture two radiator innards of different sizes. And the bottom outlet for the rad wouldn't be in the same place.

Get the one for the manual. And don't get the dirt cheapest one you can find unless you want to replace it in two or three years.

Be gentle with it and the AC condenser unless you want to tape the little cooling fins back on. Make sure you understand how everything comes apart before you do it or you will slam everything into the ground when it comes loose. Very funky setup

It wont matter. Auto trans fluid and coolant will be separated. Ive used auto rads on manual cars before and just left the holes open (if I couldnt find a bolt to plug em)

You'll be fine. Keep on clutch kickin🤙

Thanks for the advice. Next problem, fuel gauge shows just below E with plenty of fuel in tank. Remember that car sat with 3 gallons in tank for 6 years. Probably rusted or corroded sending unit. Looking up part it appears that it is attached to the fuel pump but does not necessarily come with a new fuel pump module like many GM types. Your advice on a solution? Thanks Derf you really are a great help to us learners.
