My daughter has a 1991 SL1. Everythime she starts the car it squills for about 30seconds. I change the belt and water pump problem went away for awhile but now it's back. I tried spraying beltdressing on the belt andthat last for awhile. I'm thinking about changing the belt tensioner. Does anyone have any other ideas for me?

belt,ac,tensioner, water pump, anything thats belt driven could be the problem.

sw2 is right. Can be anything belt driven. Have someone start the car while you stick your head under the hood and try to listen as to where the sound seems to be coming from.

When the tensioner pulley becomes weak, it will cause the belt to slip, which causes the noise. You can verify the part with an automotive stethescope.
