My 2005 Saturn VUE 6-cyl failed the emission test recently.

The troubleshooting code is PO455: "ECM has detected a large leak in the EVAP system"

With this report it suggested 4 Probable Causes:
1: Defective, loose or missing fuel cap (I replaced 1 year ago, so I doubt this, but I'm open to considering it)
2: EVAP canister broke, hose cracked or not connected
3. Purge or vent solenoid defective
4. Vacuum leak at engine

Has anyone seen something similar? If so, any suggestions?

Based on your comments, I'd go looking for the problem in the following order:

1 - 2B - 2C - 2A - 4 - 3B - 3A

This is my opinion only .............

 

I guess there's no easy way around the 'roll up your sleeves' troubleshooting necessary here.
