Ok i have some questions. I have a 2007 Saturn aura with a 3.6. I know all the timing chain problems with these motors. But i am only getting a p0017 code and nothing else. Car runs nice no rattle on start up and every time i check timing correlation it is ok. Ive changed the oil every 3000 miles with synthetic blend oil since new. Since the code cam up i put a new actuator in on the exhaust. But the code is very intermittent. I checked the wires to the actuator. What else do you guys recommend i look at before i go tearing into new timing chains? And are all the actuators the same? Only reason i ask the parts dealer i got it from didn't have it specific between the banks or positions. Thanks for the help!

 

That code is for the exhaust side.
Doing some research (I am not familiar with the 3.6), the solenoid gets dirty or the screen falls off.
And it is bank 1 position B, if that helps.
If you don't have the rattle, not really sure. I don't like just throwing parts at codes, either.
